Mattness is about making music without putting it in a box. One track might hit with dirty bass, hard UK rap and distorted guitars; the next might drift into chilled house, acoustic storytelling or something completely unexpected.

The songs start with ideas: stories, observations, humour, characters, everyday life and the occasional thought that probably shouldn’t have become a song… but did.

There’s no attempt to stick to one sound. If the story needs grit, it gets grit. If it needs space, melody or something downright strange, that’s where it goes.

Some tracks tell stories. Some make a point. Some are simply made to turn up loud and enjoy.
